Todays thrift store finds...

Found a few cool lamps today - one which is a lovely pus yellow ceramic [a spendy $10 but cool shape] and the other a very cool amber glass with brass base [steal at $4]. Found a lamp shade for $10 on sale at Sears [where apparently America does shop for value but probably not for much longer as the place was empty]. The pus one will get a repaint sometime soon.

Another piece of Blue Heaven on the way...

Since aquiring the Blue Heaven china, I have added a few pieces - just won this teapot on ebay. It will be a nice addition to the collection.

More vintage flatware

When I've had a shit day at work, I like to wind down at the SA on the way home - great therapy. I love digging thru the flatware bins for vintage. Hands are totally gross after but today got all these [a few barware pieces too] for a buck. Filling up the flatware drawer in the new hutch.

I only wish my office was this swank...

Harley Earl's GM office [still in use!]

Enameled metal plate

I found this at Atomic Bazaar in San Diego today and am now hooked on enamel ware. Damn you Atomic Bazaar! On the hunt for more...

Like these:

Patio

Got the urge to add some plants to my patio - kind of uninteresting but gave me an excuse to snap a pic of my Fibrella lounge chair that I found at the dump a few years back:

Rubber bowls?

I'd seen something like these at the hardware store but can't remember what they're purpose is. I loved the taupe color and they look cool - and a very reasonable .20 cents each:

cb2 mobile

Bought this mobile from cb2 a while back - thought it looked cool and was only $20 but wasn't crazy about the colors. So I thought I would just paint it - sounds easy enough but it was a bitch to take apart and spray [and respray cuz I f'd it up]. I should have just taped it then sprayed - whatever. It looks good from afar. Kept the grey and added black and tan to tone it down:

This is what it looked like:

Keller hutch

I have been looking for sometime for a mid-century hutch to display my Mom's Blue Heaven china. Found this one at nest. Amazing condition...

Palm Springs weekend

Had a great time in Palm Springs this past weekend at the Desert Star Hotel [a friend owns Bungalow 5]. Was able to get my modern fix on.
